Windsurfing: Levington Wind Direction: nw Wind Stength: 10/12 Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: 16 Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 17.35 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 10.80 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
With not much wind forecast - I will never get to put Guy Cribbs gybing
tips at this rate :( Mag and I took the windsurfing gear to Levington to
have breakfast watching the boats and birds :) With 10/12 mph from the NW
rigged 9.4 and took out the longboard at elevenish as it was high water.I
launched from the marina entrance end and sailed up to Pin Mill as not much
wind toward Felixstowe Docks !!! It was a nice beat up in the straps and
nicely railed and saw the biggest flock of oyster catchers I have ever seen
:) as well as hundreds of other waders and gulls.I turned at Pin Mill by
the old barges including one built in 1880 as the wind had gone light and I
was beating against the tide. With the wind now down :( I ran along side the
marshes watching the hundreds of birds take to the air - this is a top
place to sail so much going on !!!
When I got back to the van Mag was out walking so had a trip to the docks
but the wind was very light now and I was only just making against the
current :( Got back to the van as Mag arrived back just before the rain
started !!! Over sandwiches Mag told me what a top walk she had had :)
seeing a kingfisher and a greenshank :) so a top day was had by all and
even Ipswich beat Leeds !!!!!! and I got two pics in our local paper the
EADT :)
